Did you know that the Grand Massif is the 4th largest linked ski area in the French Alps and is made up of 5 resorts: Flaine, Les Carroz, Morillon, Samoëns and Sixt. With over 265km of sking there is plenty to explore, whether you are a beginner or expert.

As well as the obvious attractions of skiing and snowboarding have you ever wanted to push your boundries and try off-piste skiing or even ski touring? What about trying a different technique such as telemarking or cross-country skiing, the possibilites are endless.

For those that are less interested in the skiing aspect of a winter holiday why not try something a bit different? The list below are only some suggestions

Other activities:

Paragliding - get off the slopes and up in the air instead. Tandem flights are available which will give you a unique experience of seeing the mountain and valley below in a totally different light.

Snowshoe - with an abundance of scenic snowshoe trails swap the skis for some snowshoes and get of the beaten track and away from the crowds.

Sledding - a geat activity to enjoy with friends and family.

Fat biking - how about two wheels instead of two skis? Fat bikes have extra large tyres designed for riding on the snow.

Ice skating - need an effective form of aerobic exercise that helps improve your balance and coordination, then try out the ice rink for a fun experience.

Dog sledding - how about ticking something off your bucket list with a dog sled ride, who wouldn’t enjoy zipping along mountain tracks with your eager furry guides.

For those looking for something a bit more relaxing meet friends and family for lunch in a mountain restaurant, enjoy the beautiful village of Samoëns with its shops, cafés and restaurants or take some time to relax and un-wind in one of the many spas.
